Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City, Missouri

Part of a series of murals finished in 1936 by Thomas Hart Benton, collectively titled: The Social History in the State of Missouri.  This panel forms the center portion of a mural subtitled: Politics, Farming, and Law in Missouri.  It depicts the notorious Jesse and Frank James gang, legendary Western figures who hailed from Missouri.  Photograph courtesy of Robert Dolton, taken in the summer of 2004.
