Stained Glass Umbrella Dome above Rotunda
Old Louisiana State Capitol in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Tucked under the belvedere-like central tower, this spectacular glass ceiling provides a delightful interior surprise.  If Gothic cathedrals had domed rather than vaulted ceilings, this work of glass and ribbing suggests what they might have looked like.  Photograph courtesy of Robert Dolton, taken in June of 2004.
